Finding 'positivity' in times of 'toxicity' is extremely arduous .Due to the pandemic, the whole atmosphere is filled with toxic, hatred and negativity . But , I believe that our pursuit of peace should never terminate.In this time when we open Social Media they are again filled with toxic so, from where can we get peace ? One option certainly is 'Books' and I promise that these books will inspire, motivate can fill that void of mental peace and will left you spellbound  .

Though the pandemic compelled us to stay indoors , it allowed us to relax and refresh our mind and body leaving us to rejuvenate our bonds with family . I developed the habit of reading during this 'lockdown' for which I would always be grateful for and fell in love with books . So, twisting the 'quarantine' with   'readingtime' I enjoyed my lock down days .

These Top 5 books are my personal recommendation to all the people who like me  are avid learners and  on the quest of poise.

 1. Book's name : Shoe Dog : A memoir from the creator of NIKE

Author's name : Philip H. Knight 

Genre : Autobiography 

Writing style : Lucid ,honest and immensely beautiful .

Synopsis : The memoir of Mr. Knight  enfolds the true story about  his journey of creating a Billion Dollar Shoe Company . The foundation of this billion dollar company was initiated back in 1964 when Mr. Knight borrowed 50 bucks from his father  with a simple mission of importing high quality sports shoes from Japan and selling them in the American market at a cheaper price . His journey from having a 'Crazy Idea' and selling Japanese shoes from the back of his Plymouth valiant to founding a billion dollar company in immensely influencing . Today , NIKE's annual sales cross $ 30 billion .

My Reviews : This masterpiece is extremely honest and beautifully written . His come backs from various road blocks are inspirational . His story of creating this huge company is phenomenal and it will motivate you to keep going no matter  what happens .


2. Book's name : RICH DAD POOR DAD

Author's name : Robert T. Kiyosaki

Genre : Self - Help / Personal finance .

Writing style : Simple and teaches about the core concepts of personal finance in an extremely easy way.

Synopsis : Having two fathers one rich and one poor allowed the author to learn about different perspectives of different classes of people towards money. The author challenges the myth of  'earning mammoth to become rich' and presents the idea of ''making money work for you" with various of his personal experiences and ideas . He even challenges the "so-called" belief of middle class considering their house as their life time asset . His book teaches us about  how to earn strategically to live a financially independent life .

Favourite quote: 'Failure inspires Winners , Failure defeats Losers .'

My Reviews : Learning about personal finance help us to  be financially independent and the author is the best teacher . He teaches in such a simple way that at times you will not only understand his teachings but also fell in  love with his words . He blends all his experiences,ideas and practical teachings in compiles them in the form of this book . It is a worth reading book .


3. Book's name : THE MONK WHO SOLD HIS FERRARI

Author's name : Robin Sharma 

Genre: Self help 

Writing style : Beautifully written and gives you tons of valuable knowledge.

Synopsis: The fable enfolds with a eccentric attorney ( Julian Mantle ) living a out of balance spiritual life suffers heart attack and decides to enjoy the second chance given by his life by leaving all his worldly riches and went to a life changing odyssey . In his quest of serenity he approaches the sages of  The Himalayas and becomes their apprentice .He derives  powerful , wise and practical lessons from the sages that teach us to :
  •  Have a mission and follow your calling in your life .
  • Develop self discipline and courage to lead a ecstatic life. 
  • Learn to value time .
  • Rejuvenate your bonds with family , friends as well as whole humanity.

My reviews :  When you read this book  you don't feel like you are reading author's words but you are living his words . The author definitely knows to grasp the attention of his reader and he did that in a extremely intriguing way with his words .His teachings are insanely practical and can have a life changing impact on the reader . 


4. Book's name : Think and Grow Rich 

Author's name : Napolean Hill

Genre:  Non fiction / Self Help 

Writing style : Simple with powerful explanation of every topic..

Synopsis: The author challenges the myth of 'work hard to get rich' with the concept of 'think to get rich' providing evidences from the lives of eccentric tycoons that there was a 'thought impulse' behind every idea which led to the success of these magnificent people in their respective fields . The author has laid down 13 principles to train your mind not only to acquire monetary equivalent but also lead a prosperous life . These 13 principles are extremely practical , influential , motivational and have been acknowledged by the masses . 

Favourite quote : 'No one is ever defeated until defeat has been accepted as a reality' .

My reviews : I was certainly impressed with his various concepts of  training your mind to attract  be it monetary equivalent or a desire to lead a peaceful life by having faith in what you do , the principle of autosuggestion and many more. It is a book which should be definitely read in a lifetime. 


5. Book's name : The Alchemist 

Author's name :Paulo Coelho 

Genre : Fiction / Philosophy

Writing style : Simple yet intriguing 

Synopsis: The story of a Shepherd boy named Santiago from the Spanish province of Anadulsia dreams of travelling the world in the quest of a treasure as enticing as any ever found . He gets on the path in the pursuit of this alluring treasure and journeys to the exotic market of the North Africa where due to  the twist of fate he drops the idea of following his calling . But, the omens leads him to the Egyptian desert where a fateful encounter with the alchemist changes his whole life.

Favourite quote : 'The secret of life though is to fall seven times and to get up eight times' .

My reviews : The story will compel you to follow your calling no matter what happens . The efforts of this boy will influence and motivate you to follow your dreams . It is one of my favourite book .
